Anyone who suffers from shortness of breath wants to be able to breathe again without worries. Patients who suffer from respiratory diseases such as asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or who have had lung surgery benefit from lung physiotherapy.

Patients learn the correct breathing technique (diaphragmatic breathing) and better coughing techniques while sitting and lying down. On the home trainer, treadmill or strength machines, muscles that have been weakened by shortness of breath are specifically re-trained.

The PHYSIOZENTRUM Wetzikon is the first practice in the Zurich Oberland to offer a program for COPD patients:

1. Initial examination and tests
In consultation with the doctor, the lung therapist puts together an individual training program.

2. Medical training therapy (MTT)
Independent endurance and strength training with a focus on strengthening lung function. Close control by the treating therapist.

After approx. 3 months evaluation of the training success, writing a final report and discussing the long-term training possibilities.
