Our story
When Martina Landolt became self-employed in 2010 together with a fellow physiotherapist in an 8-square-metre room in Uster (ZH), she did not expect rapid success. However, several physicians began recommending the new practice to their patients. The reason was simple: thanks to direct access to the neighboring fitness centre, the therapists were able to offer what is known as active therapy – targeted exercise-based rehabilitation rather than purely passive treatment on a therapy table.
The effectiveness of active therapy methods has been scientifically proven thousands of times. Nevertheless, many practices lack the expensive infrastructure required to provide such treatments. Together with her husband Christoph Landolt, Martina decided to establish large centres where patients could benefit from optimal, modern physiotherapy.
In 2011, together with Christoph and Dr. Sara Hürlimann, the founders of zahnarztzentrum.ch, Switzerland’s largest dental care provider, the entrepreneurial couple founded Physiozentrum.ch AG. The concept is the same at every location: providing the full spectrum of physiotherapy services in one place and at the highest quality standards.

Our milestones
2021
A newcomer to the fold: The long-established Physiotherapie Gygax & Zurbuchen practice in Bern joins the Physiozentrum Group. With new branches in Dübendorf (Stettbach), Kleinbasel, and Altstetten and Enge (both in Zurich), there will soon be 25 Physiozentrum locations.
2020
During the coronavirus lockdown, the masseurs are at home full time, the physios part time. Work is in full swing on the building sites at Bern station, Aarau and Lenzburg.
2019
Medical massage is becoming increasingly prominent. New locations in Wallisellen, Baden, Lucerne, Biel, Solothurn, Olten and Chur.
2018
Despite very well-equipped training rooms, all attempts to gain subscription customers have failed over the years. 2018 marks the end of all ambitions in this respect.
2017
Expansion into Winterthur. Further locations in Zurich and Basel are also added. With around 100 employees, the company is now big enough for its first proper party.
2016
Opening of the fifth practice in Wil (canton of St. Gallen). A sixth follows in Uster (canton of Zurich), in a new building on a site once occupied by a kebab stand.
2015
Opening of the largest location to date at Zurich’s Bahnhofplatz.
2014
Opening of branches in St. Gallen and Basel. Because the three locations are at least one and a half hours apart, the founders now spend most of their time on the train.
The company is the first physiotherapy provider in the country to offer the option of booking appointments online.
2012
Opening of the first location in Wetzikon (canton of Zurich). The practice is 270 square metres in size and sets new standards in the Zurich Oberland with its MTT room.
However, the lavish reception suite is looking a bit empty.
The solution? A practice assistant, of course. Since then, practice assistants have been indispensable points of contact for patients and the team’s source of all the latest gossip.
